    Let's take a School Trip

The creative and brilliant Elise Freshwater-Blizzard is bringing a brand new show - School Trip - to YouTube, with a live premiere in Sheffield tomorrow! Downstairs at Plate in Orchard Square, I’ll be hosting the premiere event with comedy from Terri Silver, a screening of the show, and a short Q&A with Elise to top things off. It promises to be a ton of fun, so come and say hi!

    I'm editing TV Is Good

It is a true thrill to be the editor for Alan Sepinwall and Kathryn VanArendonk’s wonderful new TV podcast, TV Is Good. As a TV obsessive myself, getting a front row seat to these two genius critics and their thoughts on the latest and greatest in the medium is just a total delight. New episodes drop every Monday!

The show is available on your podcast players, at the link above, and also on YouTube if you want full video episodes. This is also a reminder that I’m available as hell to do audio and video editing for your shows too!

    One year of WtMG

On May 1st I’ll be celebrating (roughly) one year of WtMG! I always call this thing a “fake radio show”, because it only exists on Discord and primarily for the amusement of myself and six to twelve other people. But I love doing it, even though it starts at midnight my time (!) and usually ends around 3am (!!), because it gives me a chance to do some of my favourite things:

    • Chatting with Mountain Goats fans
    • Active listening to some of my favourite songs
    • Doing my radio voice

I’ve talked with friends about moving it off Discord to a more sound-stable and discoverable platform, but ultimately it’s not like Radio Go! or my other projects. I’m not trying to grow it into something larger - I’m trying to serve the lovely community that’s cropped up around this server. Still, if you’d like to see what it’s all about, you can join us on May 1st, and hopefully beyond.

My Life's a Pitch guest spot

Matt Turner and Tom McGrath (the latter of my own show, Radio Go!) have a fantastic long-running comedy podcast called Life’s a Pitch, where they pitch fake movies based on titles suggested by the audience. It rules, and I’ve been a guest a few times over the years. This week, with Tom away, Matt and I pitched family spy movies such as “MI6-Year-Old” and “Mum’s the Word”. It was very silly and is a terrific way to spend an hour. Listen here!

    Radio Go! Live on Stage

What a wonderful night we had at the first ever “Radio Go! Live on Stage” last Sunday! I couldn’t have asked for a more generous and receptive crowd for our maiden voyage, and I’m thrilled to say we succeeded massively in bringing our special brand of nonsense to the stage. We had laughs, songs, and feet all through the night!

My thanks go out to our performers: Pierre Finnimore as adventurer Edwin Fishbutt, Stan Skinny as wrestler Captain “The Butcher” Reality, and Owen Scrivens as his good self! An extra special shout out to our intrepid producer Tom McGrath - we surprised the audience with his appearance, and I’m just delighted he was able to join in the fun!

Thanks also to Jenny Garner for running the tech without a hitch, James Lickman for taking these photos and being exceedingly helpful in all things, and everyone at Alder for having us! My biggest thanks goes to you, if you came - you were the best crowd I could ask for. See you at the next one?
